Dr Ajay Taranath FRANZCR
Ajay is a Senior Consultant Pediatric Radiologist and Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Adelaide. He has been in post since 2006.
Having graduated medical school in India, he pursued a fellowship in Pediatric Radiology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney, followed by a second fellowship in Pediatric Interventional Radiology and Pediatric Neuroradiology at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada.
He serves as Chairman of the SA chapter of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists as well as the Chief of MRI at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Adelaide. Aside from general Pediatric Radiology, his areas of interest include Fetal and Pediatric Neuroimaging in addition to post-mortem imaging. He has a particular interest in malformations of cortical development, craniosynostosis, and tubulinopathies. He also has a keen interest in cranial, eye, and gut ultrasound. Ajay has authored more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to teaching trainees and medical students, he enjoys singing and travelling.
