Dr Kish Mankad FRCR

Dr Kish Mankad, Consultant Pediatric Neuroradiologist and the Clinical Lead for Pediatric Neuroradiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), has been in post since 2011. He also holds an Associate Professorship with UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.

Dr Mankad's General Radiology training was in Leeds, leading to the FRCR, and in Internal Medicine in Sheffield, leading to the MRCP. He is a core member of the Brain Tumour Imaging group of SIOPe, member of the ASPNR, RSNA, ESNR, and BSNR, and founding member of ISPIN and the BPNG. He has an extensive education and training portfolio, having directed and delivered comprehensive teaching programmes across the world. He also directs the Pediatric Neuroradiology Masterclass at GOSH and has set up a PG Certification in Pediatric Neuroradiology. He has been a Visiting Professor to SickKids, Toronto, the University of Messina, and has also been awarded as the Outreach Professor of Neuroradiology to Ghana by the World Federation of Neuroradiological Societies.

His clinical academic interests are diverse including neuro-oncology, infective and inflammatory diseases, brain malformations, white matter disorders, movement disorders and epilepsy. He has authored 5 text-books, 125 peer reviewed publications, and several book chapters. His international collaborations include Stanford University, Seattle Children’s, Neuro-MIG COST Europe, Christian Medical College, Vellore, and Gaslini Children’s Hospital, Genoa.

Kish is also a trained Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and has completed the MBA essentials programme with the London School of Economics. As such, he is passionate about quality and safety improvement, with a strong focus on healthcare economics and organizational behaviour.
